Happy New Year!!

So, now that Christmas has come and gone, for which I am glad and sad all at the same time, here we are faced with a new year and the pressure for resolutions: lose weight, spend more time with the kids, read more, blog more, love yourself more, be more organized, cook better meals, and the list goes on, and on, and on.......

So this year, I resolved not to make a resolution since they seem to be so overrated. Rather my quest for this year will be to get to know my Savior better, to follow his leading, to be a part of what he is doing in the world, to pay attention to the little nudges and whispers the Holy Spirit constantly offers us to stay in line with God's plan for our lives. I want our children to grow up knowing that we let Christ lead our lives, that we listen to what He says we should do, not what the world says. I know this will be a challenge, but one that will be well worth it for the legacy of our family.

I hope all of you that made resolutions will find a way to stick to them, and I pray that 2009 will be a year of hope, not despair; one of new beginnings: looking at the past and learning from it and then moving on, learning what a NEW NORMAL looks and feels like. So Happy New Year to everyone!
