So, Mike and I joined a new gym on Friday, Pivotal Fitness, right around the corner from our house. Its really nice and I went today for my orientation and to get accustomed to the machines etc. It was great and really got me pumped up (ha ha) to get started back. I guess we joined at a weird time, but I wanted to get back in shape before the holidays hit and all the holiday eating. My rationale is that if I am in good shape by then, I will be less tempted to eat my self sick. So, I am going to try to keep in a good schedule and get to the gym as often as possible. They have some great classes too which I am really excited about. I hate doing cardio so that will help me with that part. The strength training is the part I love, I can really see quick results when I am strength training.
So the girl we met with was really nice and had some great advice. She started talking about nutrition and stuff and I just want to eat fairly healthy and enjoy myself. She said we shouldn't eat things with high fructose corn syrup and lots of sugars. Of course I know about the sugars but when I got home, everything in my closet pretty much had high fructose corn syrup in it! Well, what's a girl to do? I try to eat healthy, stay in shape, and stay sane so I'm not giving up one of my great pleasures in life....food!!
So, this week is mom and dads anniversary. Not so good. It is still hard to believe what is going on and though I don't really want to accept it, I guess part of me has because I just go on about life, day in and day out, like everything is just normal. Really for us it is, Mike and I try not to let it get in our house too much. But still, it is weird. 38 years for what?

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Still very weird and makes no sense. Good job on getting back in the gym. I'm now down to 180 and the other morning the scale had dipped to 178. I'm getting there slowly but surely.
I thought that you guys joined Peak Fitness? Hmmm. Cool that you are getting back into working out though, as if you need to lose weight or something ! :-)
