Well today is monday and i felt like writing for some reason. Not much to talk about, just feeling reflective. My husband and I just celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary and we have really been through a lot in a short span. We got married in 2001, October. He quit his job and moved down here to SC and we lived in a townhouse for a while. We started builing our own house shortly after that and moved in September 2002. One month later, we found out we were pregnant. Great news! One week after the baby was born, he lost his job. So we had only been in our house 9 months and then all of a sudden we have no income. We tried a few things here and there but we really needed him to get a full time job so for about a year we really struggled with finances. In the spring of 2004 we found out that one of his sister's had colon cancer and have to go through strenuous chemo treatments for about 6 months. Not too long after that, November, we found out that his parents were having serious relationship issues. then in March of 2005 we found out that my parents were having serious relationship issues, separated and got divorced, something my mom will probably never fully recover from. This was a grueling year long process, we're talking getting out of bed at 1,2 or 3 am to go over there. The divorce was final in June of this year. Then a few weeks ago, maybe mid-September, we found out another one of his sisters has cancer, this time breast cancer and had to have a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery with 4 months of chemo to follow. So there you have it, we have had quite the packed 5 years. I am truly hoping for a quiet upcoming 50 or 60 years!! But the Lord has helped us through it all and I don't think we could have made it without prayer and leaning on the Lord and each other for support. We have as strong a marriage as any one I know and we are by far the happiest in our marriage of anyone I know! So, that's all I have to say for now, just wanted to put my thoughts out there.
