So, today we went to find our Christmas tree. i found a place on line that looked to be pretty good and we set off for Ware Place in search of May-Lan Tree Plantation. It turned out to be great! We drove up and were immediately greeted by Santa Claus with a candy cane for Michael. We hopped right on the tractor and they took us out to look at the Leland Cyprus trees, which in my opinion are the best. They last the longest, don't shed at all and still have that great piney scent!
It didn't take us long to find the perfect tree and for Mike to cut it down. They also had some farm animals to take a gander at so we did that and then had some hot apple cider and some caramel apples. We got some great homemade jelly while we were there too!
Below are some pictures from our trip today. We did get our tree up, after a few mishaps, and we are planning on decorating it tomorrow night. We pulled out all the decorations and lights from the basement and I started going through everything. While this year will be radically different than those in the past, I am looking forward to starting our very own family traditions.
I'll get some more pictures of the tree once we get it decorated.
